I want one, but may have to wait a bit to get one.

Entice me into making this happen, show me pics of all you have or just your carry set up.

You can't have just one! Great shooters, reliable and affordable. I carry mine in that sweet two tone rig made by by Eric (PCRCCW on this forum). We worked on the feed ramp a little on the one with the Pearce grips so that it would feed HP better. I also upgraded to a stronger recoil spring. Wow, I just realized I havn't even shot the other one yet. I thought about getting the Novak sights installed. That is a great upgrade, unfortunately it costs almost as much as the gun. I doubt you will regret it if you get one.

By the way, I notice you are in Germany with the Air Force. I have a brother in law and my sister who are heading there next month. Could be stationed there up to 4 years. I was hoping he would be able to find me some Makarov supplies over there. What do you see over there, and are you able to send anything back accross the pond? I know actuall firearms would be very difficult, but what about magazines etc.....?

12 Volt Man,

The Mak's look good, and the holster also.

As for sending stuff back to the states, I don't see why you couldn't do it, I haven't looked for anything gun related over here yet, seemed pointless since I can't even have a gun here. But now that I am looking into getting a Mak, I may just have to start looking.

Hi-Cap mags would be the only draw back I see other than full on firearms.

Glockster35,
i notice this is your second post about Maks....you got the desire dont you?!
i wish i had a digital camera to post pics of mine
i just got a Falco IWB holster from Makarov.com and it is nice
35 bucks too
but they dont have many left i think
at least thats what one of the guys who runs Makarov.com said on another board
maybe theyll get more in
im being tempted by another soviet block gun, a Polish P-64 from SOG (on the Mak forum at gunboards.com its a hot topic)
they are a buck fifty and shoot 9X18 also
i like that round, its cheap! about the cheapest centerfire pistol ammo you can buy......most of it has that annoying lacquer (gets all in the slide and stuff) on it but for 5 bucks a box its worth it
dont worry, when you get back there will be a nice one for you
:D

The wife is bugging me to get her one. Plus I figure if there are that many around, it can't hurt to buy a couple...I mean you guys are saying they are fun and all.:D

I'm sure she'll understand.:p

Mr. Camp,

Your article started it all. I blame you for the illness as you call it. Darn you!:cuss:

Just kidding, but your report supported the idea.

I do have a question for you guys though, is the lever of the left side a decocker or a safety or both as on the 92FS?

Zundfolge,

Any chance of getting a bigger picture posted of that fine piece?

As far as the guns go...Ive had 3 CZ 83's..inc. my current Satin Nickel Mak (w/ Hi Caps :D ) and shot, borrowed, carried or owned about every other .380 / Mak chambered gun out there....inc. the beloved FEG SMC 918.

The Makarov is a stellar little gun. Ive stated that the CZ83 is a better all around gun multiple times on this forum....but they are also much different guns.

This may sound like Im putting my foot in my mouth, and quite frankly may be doing that, but the Mak is a damn nice gun.

I cannot field strip my CZ83 the way I can the Mak down to every nut and bolt (with no tools) and the CZ doesnt fit in my pocket the way a Mak does......

Both are fine examples of what a nice little 9x18 can be.....

Yesterday I took both guns out for a little work out...I could write a comparison about them..but thats already been done to death......and suffered through many lifetimes
Ill just say the little Mak blew one little ragged hole out to about 15 yds...
It went pull for pull with my CZ 83 until we got past that range.....that says basically everything.................

Shoot well

Thanks.

PCRCCW,

Very interested in one of your rigs. Do you have a website?

If anyone is interested I've got a NIB Falco IWB for sale. Email me for details.

I got them from the guy who makes them for www.makarov.com however there's a chance he's out of the grip business :(

Here's his site http://members.aol.com/jonbenjon/customgrips.htm (which may not work ... for some reason when I tried to go there it would try to save the HTML file to disk instead of display it ...weird)

Here's the thread on the Makarov forum where he announced he may be going out of business (actualy he put the business up for sale)
