Hello,

Here is the first test of this Belgian RIC ;

Brass is done from recut 38 Sp. and balls are 0.375 (same for percussion pistols). BP only of course.
The balls are put on top of the shell and slightly hammered to block them in place . However, due to recoil, 2 balls got free in the cylinder and so did not reach the target due to poor BP compression ; Otherwise all balls reached the target !

Wow! Great results for 25 meters! :)

Did you shoot it single action, double action or both?

If you used .38 S&W instead of .38 spcl,you'd be able to thumb-seat them a bit firmer...

Very nice, would it be possible to slightly crimp the case mouths? That would help with the balls moving forward under recoil.

Some of these Webley or Webley-esque Revolvers had peculiar Chamberings when in .38

With some, .38 S & W is too fat a Cartridge, and, .38 Special cut-down for length, is about right.

Possibly, some of these were chambered for the earliest .38 Colt Center Fire, which was shorter than .38 Long Colt, but the same diameter...and the same diameter as the .38 Rimfire had been.

These would have been Hollow Base, Soft Lead, Outside Lube Bullets which had a smaller outside diameter area or 'Heel' at their Base, seating only to that depth, in the Cartridge Case.

Good shooting!

And a nice looking old Revolver..!

Is this a P. Webley and Sons then? Or...?

A lot of those old small Webleys are chambered for .380 Revolver, pretty much a .38 Short Colt. Some of the medium frame guns were made for .380 Long and .360 No 5 Rook. The .380 Long is very close to .38 Long Colt. The .360 No 5 is only a little shorter than .38 Special and with inside lubricated bullet instead of the heel bullets of the .380s.

I don't think the British did much with .38 S&W until they adopted the .38 Super Police as the .380/200 in the 1920s.
