Favorite rifle - U.S. Rifle, Cal. .30 M1. Carry gun - Colt 1911A1. New favorite revolver - New S&W Model 22 "1917". I just got one of the new 1917's for a fantastic price and love it, although it would be nicer without the "infernal" lock.

This thing shoots really well. Back in the '90's when the Brazilian ones were coming in cheap, I always wanted one but never got one.

It shoots well, the moon clips are nice, and I am partial to lanyard loops.

If you get a chance to pick one up at a good price, I highly recommend it!

Now you need a 1903 Springfield to complement the revolver.

I hear you my brother! I was recently called 'old school' at the range when some punk kid who saw my (of all things) Glock 19 -- bit my tongue & just out shot him.
My current fave wheelgun = circa '69 Python

I must be really old because I can recall when what is now called old school was considered to be new.

Now THIS is an old school military style carbine.

For a truly old school wheelgun think Triple Lock, baby!

I bought a 1917 back in the early 90s. It was sorta worn out, had a smith spiff it up and he said it was safe to shoot with light loads. It didn't work well with cast bullets, though, and I don't shoot a firearm that can't shoot cast bullets, so I sold it. Neat gun, though, and the new M22 is a BEAUTIFUL gun. The color case hardening is hard to take your eyes off of.

It would also be nicer if they put the front sight base where it belonged. The guy who stuck it at the very end of the barrel must ride the short bus to work. The lock is a company policy. I very much doubt that the front sight base was. That was just stupidity.
