Brenneke. It'll punch a nice 3/4" hole right through. Most Foster slugs will expand, which is the last thing you want in a slug that is already light-for-caliber to begin with.

I don't hunt with slugs. Closest I can give you is the 385 grain Hornady Great Plains .50 cal Minie ball. That's pretty close to a 20 gauge slug, but I submit is more effective.

Breneke is the only slug I've ever killed anything with, on an out of state shotgun only hunt. Grouped the best of the three brands I tried too.

Remingtons seem to be especially accurate in my Mossberg. First two 3" out of my cylinder bore went into overlapping holes at 25 yards, offhand.

Nearly every December, I head to eastern Pennsylvania to hunt with my USAF buddy. His land is located in a shotgun only portion of Bucks County.

This little doe was literally knocked over at approx 90 yards with Hornady sabot ammo. The damage to chest organs was ghastly indeed. I'm certain this ammo would be fine for big Dakota elk at same distance.

Majority is Brennekes, good workmanship slugs.

A few winlites, some buckhammer for the wife... that ammuntion is put wherever exactly she wants it in her Moss on iron sights. Accurate as hell. Makes her a rifleman she once was and me a cook.

I also have a little bit of Federal trueballs as a experiement. Too plasticy. A spot of win magnum 3 inchers.. those are just good or even a bit much.

But Brennekes are more and more in favor over everything else. A bit of Triple ought from remington is being tried out as I type this.

I think i tried about all slugs for a rifled barrel . I group of us all bought different brands to try and darn near all are shooting those big fat buck hammers instead of some nice saboted round,go figure.

We get something called Sauvestere's here. They look like sabotted Mortar shells..

The Wild Boar hunters love them. They are very expensive though. About 25+ euro's for a box of 8.

Brenneke Black Magic. I like the accuracy and you can't argue with hardcast.
