I cant find any local, down to my last 50 rounds of WWB, found some Wolf 230 gr. fmj locally. How does it perform? Can I expect it to shoot dirty? Is it corrosive? Will I have a sudden yen for borshct? Can I use it and not sweat it? Help a bro' out fellas!

I've never used it. Wolf ammo and some handguns do not get along. For example, it's been known to crack the extractor on Sigs. Maybe the XD will be fine, but I'd order spare parts first. (something you should do, anyway)

I've heard it's dirty and many folks think it's great ammo, but I won't shoot it by choice in any serious gun.

I use it for practice when I don't want to try and find the brass. It shoots fine in all 3 of my 1911's, my PT145 and Colt New Service revolver. It's only a little more dirty than the 231 I reload with.

I shot the wolf .40 all the time out of my CZ. Not the cleanest, but Remington UMC is WAY dirtier. Cycled OK. Haven't tried it in my .45 XD, since I found a good deal and stocked up on S&B .45 a while back.

I say go for it. My XD is less finicky than my CZ for sure.

I put 500 rounds of wolf .45 fmj through my SIG P220 a few years ago. Not a single problem. everytime I pulled the trigger it went bang. It is as accurate as Blazer in my SIG.

Try Georgia Arms.... http://georgia-arms.com/index.aspx

They are delayed 5-7 weeks on delivery but many places
are back-ordered until late summer to early fall.

I used to try and buy Wolf 45 where ever I could before I started rolling my own. I liked it and never had a problem.

Is this for a primary gun?

In a pinch, I'd use any ammo I could get my hands on.

They shouldn't be corrosive, and even if it shot dirty, you can always clean the pistola.

I have and continue to shoot Wolf in my .45's. For a long time I only shot it in my SA's and shot the "good stuff" for my Colts.
After having no problems in the SA's (and then getting rid of them) I started shooting them in the Colts's.
Now, I do shoot it more in the Norinco than the Colts, but right now that that is just the mix of what I am shooting the most.

No, it is not corrosive. And yes, I have spare parts in case I break something.

I have not personally seen any problems with Wolf in anybody I shoot with.

Wolf Ammo will NEVER touch the rifling (lands and grooves) of any of my weapons~! :scrutiny: ;)

I've been using Wolf in my makarov for years (for a little while it was the only brand I could get in that size in my area). It never caused me any problems... but it did shoot a little dirtier I will admit. Thou... Russian ammo in a Russian gun always seemed appropriate to me....

I load 99% of my ammo. When Wolf was cheap I did buy a lot of boxes. I use it for testing a new firearm or shooting out in the weeds or when I have a new shooter down for the day. I have never had a problem with any of it. The steel case .45 runs great through my Colt and XD. I buy the Wolf Gold rifle ammo when I need brass. I have found it to be accurate in the calibers I have used. (Don't tell rc but I reload the steel cased .45 for when I go out plinking in the woods.)

I have used it several times in several different pistols (HK USP, Glock 21, Glock 30 , 1911s) and never had any issues with it. It is decently accurate out of gov't model 1911s. It is rather dirty though.

I've never shot expensive ammo and had my gun come out cleaner as a result, have you guys?
