Lately I have really been interested in kahr guns. I cant really explain why, I think its mostly the ergonomics of them. I like slim grips, they feel good in my hand even though my hands while not huge are larger than average. I just cant decide what one I like best. Do any of you guys have a TP9 or 40? Also is the upgrades between the cw and p models worth the price diff? Last question is what is the diff in kick between a cw9 and cw40? I already have a pps9 and think maybe the 9 because I dont need to buy different caliber ammo, but than maybe the 40 because I already have a 9mm pps.

I have a Kahr K9 for my CCW. It's accurate, reliable, and easily concealed. I can't comment on the other Kahrs, as this is the only one I own.

I own a PM9 and it's been fantastic. Accurate, reliable and totally concealable under all clothing.

It's not a range gun and kick is noticeable, but not bad. I imagine the .40 is a handful and quite snappy.

I wish Memphisjim would elaborate on his post...bad experience?

I have a T9, K9, P45 and a CW9. I have shot the K40 which was pretty easy to handle, however a P40 would have a bit more recoil.

My favorite is the larger T9, which is a very, very nice pistol. No complaints at all. I compare it to my HK P7.

The CW is surprisingly easy to shoot well. Even with NATO ball it is very manageable...one of my "best buys" IMHO. The lightness and ergonomics make this a natural for CC.

I suggest you start with a very reasonably priced CW9 to see if you are a "Kahr" person. If so, you've not invested much, and still have a fine pistol to keep or sell if you decide against it for little to no loss.

PM and MK series Kahrs come with two mags, a flush-fitting and the finger extension shown. It holds one extra round. I personally use it as the reload, with the flush as the in-gun.

I had a PM9 and it was reliable and accurate, but I just don't like polymer guns and sold it.

A couple weeks ago I got a K9 Elite and love it.

I have a K9 and think it is a great gun. In fact the more guns I shoot the more I have come to like that little K9. I am in the market for a PM9 now. I at one point considered a cw9 but one thing kept me from buying, the pinned front sight. I greatly prefer night sights on a CCW or self defense gun. The lack of that feature and inability to easily add them is a show stopper for me. I know others do not believe night sights are that important. For such people the CW9 is a good buy.

I purchased one yesterday. First impression. very accurate 10 shots, at 15 yards 7 in two inch bull three oops low left. Shooting 230 gr. the recoil is noticable. I would suggest if you are serious do a search on "kahr reviews". That will bring up several reviews written in 2006 when the p45 came out.` The Guns magazine June 2006 article, under sights, fifth paragraph,
the problem with the sharp edge of the trigger is the same as I experienced. I shot 20 rounds testerday, my trigger finger was too sore to continue. Today I shot 10 rounds. If you aren't use to a double action only it will take some time to get use to, certainly different than my Colt 1911,Sig p226,p228 and tarus pt145

As a matter of fact, I've just put mine (TP40) up for sale in the local trading post hear where I live. I have an Mk40, which I quite like, but I just don't like the TP40 very much.

I really like Kahrs. I think they are the best striker-fired guns out there.

What can I say? They just don't measure up to high end guns. The trigger pull is agonizingly long, but butter smooth. I just like a gun that goes bang when I feel resistance.

I've had and foolishly sold a K9 that had absolutely no problems. I currently have a PM9 which go to the range quite often -zero problems. I don't consider it to have a bad recoil. It's a good gun. I can't comment on the .40s because I personally don't like that round and it has difficulties in a lot of guns.

is dead right IMO. if any guns seem to have issues it is with the 40 cal. Has to be the round, but in the kahr polymer version that is just one powerful rocket cannon and I would just suggest staying away form a polymer 40 kahr. The allsteel versions are very nice if a 40 is what you want.

Just not sure you can beat the PM9 version or the P9 version or the best priced kahrs are definitelyt he cw series which are super shooters and built like a brick sh-thouse..

after getting through the 200 to 300 round break in perod the gun has performed flawlessly. The PM9 is very accurate, dependable, and small and easily concealed for a 9mm. I also have a Kahr P380 and the same comments apply. The P380 is so small and light weight you can actually forget you are carrying the gun.

I have the PM40 as my back-up weapon. My primary is a Sig 229 in .40S&W.

I like the .40 round just because it is a mid-point between the 9mm and the .45 ACP.

As one poster suggested the .40 in the PM40 is quite "snappy". In my Sig, the .40 is a comfortable round to shoot. I recently finished my Front Sight Handgun Self-Defense course with zero problems associated to the .40 round or the Sig.

I'm still getting used to the Kahr PM40. I have two mags for it; one has the finger extension and the other does not. The one with the finger extension holds an extra round. My general plan is to use the one with the finger extension as the daily carry. My thinking is that the extension will make the mag removal easier in the heat of battle if it becomes necessary to do a tactical mag exchange. The disadvantage of the finger extension is that it makes it more difficult to conceal.

I'm using an "in the pocket" holster for the PM40 and it if anyone were to question the shape in my front pocket, it would easily be explained as a wallet. I also have an elastic/fabric web under shoulder holster for it. These two holsters are made by Active Pro Gear and are inexpensive. With the shoulder holster, my PM40 is virtually invisible under an ordinary sport shirt, even when tucked in. This isn't a rapid deployment holster, rather a complete concealment holster. I'm pleased with both products.

Thanks for the good input Ralph. I am committed to purchasing a cw, p, or pm 9, I just have to wait for ten more weeks to go back to AZ because I dont want the hassle of getting residencey here in VA. Until than I carry my pps, im just getting anxious to mix it up with something else and thats why I want a kahr.

I own a couple Kahrs and they have been 100% reliable. They arent my favorite guns but they have their place in my collection and they arent for sale. I guess that means I like them.;)

Have the CW40. Very pleased with it. I also like the fit and feel. Feed well. Like the sight picture. Recoil is not bad.

I recently got a PM40. It is a great gun and very light weight: perfect for CCW. I wouldn't recommend it for pleasure shooting, it is a little beyond very snappy.

I am lucky enough to own four Kahrs. (I'm not sure how I ended up with so many. I just kept running into some good deals on them.) They are great shooting little guns. The DA triggers are on the longish side, but they are very smooth. This little guy is my current summer carry:

Recently I purchased a PM9...could not be happier. Nice accurate gun, very compact and easy to conceal.

The long trigger pull takes some getting used to but it is perfect for the type of pistol it is.

It is not easy to shoot well as you can only get 2 fingers onto the grip. I think that I would prefer the P9 but maybe not. The PM9 is not for sale.

shooting wise the P9 would be more of the gun to have but for absolute carry, u have the best with the PM9. Just as u said take some adjustment. I love mine.

I have a CW40 and recoil is not bad at all. My 12-year old shoots it with aplomb.

I have a PM-9 which has adjustable rear black blade and a front night site installed.

I call it my American Express gun... because I never leave home without it. (Unless I can hide a larger gun under my duds.)

I wouldn't suggest the PM-40 (which is the only other Kahr I have shot quite a bit)... even in the hands of a VERY experienced shooter... it bucks too hard to make fast second shots on target doable. The recoil compares with an airweight 357.:cuss:

I've had my K40 since 1997. I have lost count of how many rounds I've fired through it (well over 8000), but it has never malfunctioned. This little gun fits my hand like it was custom built for me. 6+1 with the original K40 mags, but it can also use the 7 round mags from the T40. I have no experience with Kahr's poly guns, but their steel pistols are second to none. I've added a 5-lb Wolff striker spring, the Kahr 4" ported barrel, Hogue Pau Ferro grips, and some assorted stoning and polishing.
