Sierra 85 grain .308 pistol bullet in .30 carbine?

I have a source for a good price on a quantity of the Sierra 85 grain .308 bullet made for the 7.62x25/.30 Mauser. I don't have either of those handguns, but I do have a couple of .30 Carbines.
I haven't seen any load data for carbines with anything other than 110 grain bullets, plus the 100 grain Speer, but it seems like it wouldn't be too tough to find a load for these that would function. Any thoughts?

I got load Data from Hornady for their 90gr XTP, so you never know, contact Sierra and see what they tell you.

Go to the Hodgdon website, www.hodgdon.com, they list loads for 4 different powders using the 85 gr bullet in the 30 Carbine. Good shooting. :)

you may want to make sure that those 7.62x25 bullets arent .311. The russian 7.62x39 and 54r are both .311 so you can't shoot them from a .308 unless you resize them.

I have loaded several hundred rounds with these bullets over W296. They are reliable in function and a lot of fun to shoot.

Thanks. I'm going to try the 296 load from Hodgdon's. The soda cans wont know what hit em.
