Your pistol is the Rossi Garrucha. It was imported, from Brazil, in .22 LR by Firearms International until the Gun Control Act of 1968 put an end to importation of small, cheaply made handguns. The Garrucha was also manufactured, but not imported into the USA, in a .30 cal. cartridge, not available in the USA. The word Garrucha translates to "pulley" which is used, in Brazil, to describe this type of pistol, which I suspect has to do with the way the pistol opens and extracts. The Garrucha was originally produced by Rossi as an economical pistol for Brazilian peasants.
