Heheheh...A friend called Sarah Grabby a few yers back and asked, since her org are the experts on handgun safety, what was the safest pistol one could have, since he needed one for his security job, but had to keep it at home off duty.
"Er...well, we suggest you ask the police."
"But aren't you experts on gun safety?"
"Well, we wouldn't be able to address TECHNICAL issues..."
"Thanks. Good to know." :banghead:

You should also remind her that it does pay to advertise.....such as don't leave the mall in the dark....

If she ever tells you, let me know, because I'm going broke trying to comply with these one-gun-a-month proposals. I mean, I like guns, but I can't afford twelve a year.

Too bad that nobody learns from history...otherwise she'd know that her good intentions are as wasted as those of her predecessors who campaigned for a "alcohol-free America", and a "drug-free America".

At work I always try to park beside the car with the "Million Mom March" bumper sticker.
Of course I have an NRA Life Member sticker...

GSB,
What you need to do is buy a cheap gun for about $75.00. Then find a gun buy back offer for $100.00 and sell the gun. Do this every month and at the end of twelve months, you will have a gain of $300.00. You can then use that as seed money for your next big purchase. :D

Handgun free America?
Hrmm.. I kinda thought it was muskets, rifles, and cannon that were used to free America... but handguns are cool to I guess. :)

I'm guilty of this...
"Uh... Just noticed your bumper sticker. You really shouldn't have that on there, because it lets carjackers know that you're an easy target..."
I get some really weird looks...

Marko..
I TOTALLY disagree!
Alcohol-free America has lead to increased alcohol consumption.
Drug-free America has lead to increased drug consumption.
Handgun-free America has lead to increased purchases of handguns. (See Webster's under "Tamara")
So maybe she was secretly working for ourside?? :D
all kidding aside.. Where do I get a free handgun??

Alcohol-free America has lead to increased alcohol consumption.
And worse, the Kennedy's! :barf:
What's wrong with increased alcohol consumption other than it digs into the ammunition fund?
all kidding aside.. Where do I get a free handgun??
If you don't hurry back I'm going to get some from Oleg.

Not that I'd advocate doing this, as it could get you in some trouble if the sheep started bleating too loudly, but your conversation with her could have gone like this:
You: "So, you are against firearms, eh?"
Her: "Yep. They're bad and they kill people."
You: "So I'm correct in assuming that you aren't carrying a firearm for your personal protection right now?"
Her: "Why, yes of course not. Guns are awful things."
You: "Hmmm..thanks for the tip. I'm obviously a lot larger and stronger than you ma'am, and your purse and new purchases seem quite attractive to me. Think I'll stick around and wait for you to walk to your car later. Aren't you glad you don't have a handgun on you now? Oh, and BTW, I agree that guns are awful things. They can make my job SO much more difficult if people like you carried them."

Bogie: that's a great way to handle it!
"Ma'am, I'd hate to see a nice lady come to harm, but your shirt (or bumper sticker) is practically inviting a mugger (or carjacker) to attack you."

Oooooh....poor analogy. Alcohol and drugs are vices. As a libertarian, I advocate minimal government interference in the use of these products, but I wouldn't compare them to guns. Guns are not vices--they are tools.
Your argument is kinda like my other pet peeve...those who wonder why my drivers license is recognized by all 50 states, but my CCW isn't. Comparing a priviledge with a right just confuses the issue.
OK, off my soap-box.

I emailed Handgun Free America once for a bumper sticker and they sent one to me. Cost them thirty-seven cents in postage. Of course, I didn't join so but I got a sticker. Gonna have to find a dumpster to put it on - of course it goes in the interior.

No, no, go ahead and confuse them.
"We should license guns just like cars."
"Okay. So I can get one at age 16 after taking a 20 minute test, am allowed three non-fatal accidents a year, can still use one on my way to work after a fatal accident, only need the license when operating it on a public street, not when transporting it, and am exempt from licensing requirements during a bona-fide emergency. And in Florida, I can get the license even if I'm blind. All fifty states, Canada, Mexico and most European and Asian nations will be required by treaty to recognize it as valid."
Sure. I'm willing to "Compromise" like that.:D

That would be great.
