Anyone know a reputable mail order place where I can find the ARMS #40 backup iron sight for the AR-15 style rifle?

Checked: Lightfighter, LPS Tactical, StubbyGear

Found: Botach (but I'm not going to risk it)

Any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Justin

Frank Sottile. I guarantee you won't find better prices anywhere. He should have it, he's an ARMS rep. GREAT seller to deal with. Even if he has to back-order it, he sends updates once a week. I ordered #18 in June 01. They were out of stock, oestensibly because of the mideast wars. Nobody had it; not Clint, FA, Smith, no one. From all the web traffic, he delivered to his folks two weeks before FA delivered to their backlogged customers. He kept me updated weekly in a group email until production for public sales delivered mine in Nov that year. http://www.battlerifles.com/viewtopic.php?t=714

There are a lot of reputable dealers at www.ar15.com so check there.

Plus, there are usually a few floating around on the equipment exhange forum at that site.

I buy a lot of AR15 stuff. A LOT. Let me give you the one stop place to buy anything AR15: http://www.mstn.biz/
These guys are super nice, and super fast. Just be advised that the only sell the good stuff. If you want some cheap chinese knockoff of something, you will have to go elsewhere, but if you want an ARMs #40, they will have it.

Suggest Eagle Arms, in Colorado, or CSGunWorks.com.

I've had great experiences with both.

www.eaglefirearms.net has a special at $84.99 + $5 shipping (but they keep selling out at that price)
www.gandrtactical.com has 'em for $89 + $5
and
www.mstn.biz runs $96 shipped.

I personally can't do business with MSTN, but that's because He and I had differing opinions regarding ordering from his website. He didn't handle things the way I thought he should, and was quite rude about it...

Everyone at AR15.com loves MSTN, and he's got a stellar reputation and I'm apparently the only person who's ever had a negative experience. Heck, I wish I could place an order... he's the only place I know of that has the LMT rear sight :)

I am not a shopper. When I want something, I have a rough idea of what it costs and I buy it. I don't call around and try to save 75 cents. When I want something for one of my ARs, I send an E-Mail to MSTN something like this:

I need an ARMS #40 rear sight.
My Name
My Address

Two to three days later I am opening the package. That is the entirety of the correspondance. If I am not sure exactly what I need, I send them a little more detailed E-Mail such as:
I want to mount an Aimpoint ML2 on a KAC RAS II send me the right stuff
My Name
My address

I really don't see how much easier it can get. They know their business, they know what the latest stuff out is. I completely count on their expertise. If they don't sell it, it isn't worth owning.

If you were a fireman, you would probably be more cautious than others regarding potential fire hazards.

If you were a dentist, you would probably pay a lot more attention to your dental hygene.

I work for the second largest credit card processing company in the world, and at that time, was with their E-Business Services division. Specifically, the product I worked with was an online credit card customer service website. Guess what considerations and precautions I take that most others may not?

Money was not the issue, and I guess I shoulda qualified my initial response with "these are the three least expensive places I know of, and all three have great reputations".

Sorry, I guess I didn't get my point across. I wasn't talking about money either. I was talking about trust and convienience. I don't shop via their website. I do just what I said, I send them an E-Mail with what I want and my name and two to three days later it is at my house. I know that they know this subject matter. I know that their prices are going to be similar to others. I know that they have the good stuff. So, I just tell them what I want and it shows up. I don't bother asking questions because they have the experience to know what the optimal product is.

I have had real good luck in dealing with gun related businesses. There are a lot of really good, easy to deal with companies. Companies that go the extra mile for you. But there are a couple companies that I have dealt with that were at the top of the heap and MSTN is one of them. I know I sound like I work there or something, but I have just been very happy with my transactions with them. It is so easy that I wouldn't think of doing anything else. When I read about some product or an instructor tells me about a product that is the real deal, I just E-Mail them and tell them I want one.
