I have a Remington 721 that I had converted to left-hand action many years ago. I've finally decided that the empty bolt notch on the right side is downright ugly and the stock needs to be replaced.

However, I haven't had any luck finding stocks for the 721. My question is: Are the 721 and 700 interchangeable? If not, where can I obtain a stock for my rifle, either fully or semi-inletted?

Most stocks for Remington 700 series will fit the 720/721/722 series actions with minor fitting/modification. I have found that the synthetic are best for these applications as once they are fitted (and bedded) to the action the stock can be painted and there will be no noticable trace of the mods.
