Folks,

It's happening! Thanks in part to generous people here who gave good advice when we asked for it, the state of Maine is getting it's first IDPA shooting club. Our IDPA affiliation is complete and we'll be running the classifier as our first official match on the 25th of October. We've already had several 'test' informal shoots to drum up interest in the club and have run a couple clinics for new shooters as well.

Lots of good people getting involved, lots of area interest, lots of work to do.

We were expecting to build some ranges specifically for practical shooting, but that has fallen through temporarily...maybe next year. That means that for the time being we have only one bay, but we're going to do what we can.

I managed to slap a website together last weekend which needs help, I know, but it's a start.

If anyone would like to shoot with the only IDPA club in Maine, drop me a line :D

- Gabe

PS: We're new, so if anyone has any advice for a new club, please feel free.

So when we go to nationals do we just look for the crew wearing red flannel cover garments?

Sounds good, happy shooting.

Some advice: dress warm, and drop at least two handwarmers in each pocket...........

Now, where the hell is Scarborough?

ps congrats on getting a new club up-n-running; start figuring ways to avoid burnout

PS: We plan on running IPSC eventually too...couldn't get it past the club's board just yet though.

Thanks John, we had a great time. It's definitey a struggle with only one bay, but them's the breaks. More fun to come!

Blam blam! :D
