They look right on Garands, 1903's, P17's, M14's, etc.

Question: Does anyone else use the 1907 sling on other rifles?

I have one on my Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1. It looks kinda funny, but it's a shooting sling, not just a carry sling, right?

Am I violating some Cruffler code?

Rule number one. If it works don't fix it. There are lots of proper Enfield slings about though.

I have one on an AR-15? Does that count?
I really like the M1 cotton web slings, so I might just add some of those to my sporting rifles. They have more adhesion to my shoulder than most modern "carry strap" slings, with the added benefit of being usable as shooting slings. Who cares what it looks like,so long as it works.

You mean like this?

Sure it's not original/historically correct. It works and doesn't even look bad IMO.

If you ever sell it, the new owner can cut the darn thing off if he doesn't like it.

If it works for you and you like it, why would it matter if it did?

Okay, that's it. I'm buying one for my M39 as well. :D

Actually, the M1907 was issue by the Brits on the No.4 Mk.I(T) sniper rifles. So, you just need the mounts and the No.32 scope to be authentic. :)

Actually I believe the issue sling for the (T) rifles was was not a military issue 1907 but a commercial sling that is very, very similar and easily mistaken for one. But if you ever see one in really good shape the slight differences from the issue 1907 are pretty easy to spot. :)

Hmmm....okay, I've been staring at that pic for some time now, and I can't see the difference. I give up. Looks purdy darn close to me.

Use one on my Savage hunting rifle. Don't need no bi-pod.
