Springfield EMP Conversion ?

I just picked up a Springfield EMP in .40 SW. I love 1911's and this is just slightly lighter than my Kimber Custom Ultra CDPII. I was wondering if anyone was aware of the possibility and availability of 9mm and .357SIG barrels/mags to fire all three calibers through this pistol. While I will most likely use the .40 95% of the time, I would like the flexibility to fire whatever ammo happens to not be out of stock that day. :uhoh:
My Sig P239 .40 is widely converted with .357 SIG and 9MM barrels, but it is clearly NOT the same handgun.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

1911s are not Sig's, so parts would have to be fit. the EMP isn't available in 357, so your out of luck there.

If someone makes an emp barrel in 357 you should be able to put one in and use the 40 mag.
I think the 357 works at higher pressures and this may cause problems with the factory recoil spring and frame wear.

i would think the faster slide speed of the 357 Sig would throw off it's timing

One way to find out is to have a 9MM barrel rechambered to .357 Sig.

I just bought a EMP 40 with on gun broker.com. I can't wait to shoot it I never was that impressed with the 40sw On the other hand 357sig has won over this die hard 45acp man

I think there is no possibility for conversion of a 40 down to a 9mm as the grip size for the 9mm/mags is very thin made specially for the 9+1 thin mags.
I think your 40cal mag is a bit wider for the 7+1 load and so is the grip..
I think, as mentioned, if someone made a 357sig barrel, you "might" have a way to go but, also, as mentioned, I wonder about the timing change..
For now, your only expensive bet is to own a 9mm and the 40cal you just bought.
2 out of 3 isn't to bad.. lol
Enjoy,
Ls
