There should be a small rectangle with "100" in it on the left side of the frame. Also the importer's mark should state country of origin.

Yup!! Rectangle with 100 is East Deutsch. The Deutschers also used a four sided diamond inscribed around a circle. I have Makarovs with both marks in my collection.
