I believe you need form 5310.16 (and I think you also need form 5330.20)

There is a lot of information on this thread (http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=48235) and the site is worth bookmarking, too.
The short and simple directions can be found here (http://1911sigforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=102). I just used them for mine. 13 days mailbox to mailbox.

Thanks guys I've got to get me one of these. I've got all the modern firearms I want but 3. This will open up a whole new area of collecting.

I sent off my C & R application yesterday morning. I can't wait.
I sent it to the Dallas address. I hope that doesn't slow it down to much.

From what I've seen in Shotgun News it would pay for itself with one purchase. With this permit the gun can be shipped directly to me correct?

yes they will ship the gun right to your door. You will get to know your UPS driver very well as C&R gun are addicting. Your credit cards will suffer from orderin g so many guns, but that's ok because you can always get another job to support your habit.:D

Dont bother leaving a message, they never return calls. Keep calling during business hours and eventually you'll get a human on the phone. I had my best success calling at like 9am, when they were just starting for the day.

I sent out my app in June, and hadn't gotten anything from the ATF yet. So last week I tried calling, but I couldn't get anyone on the line. Finally I decided to email, and lo n' behold - it worked! ATF said that my License had just been approved and they were sending it off. I guess a 4 month wait is better than never. (btw I'm in CA)

I sincerely warms my heart seeing you guys get that license.
Mine took 27-29 days, can't remember exactly.
It's so cool to call a distributor on the phone and have weapons shipped directly to the house.
Enjoy the hobby, and cut up the credit cards now.
I see the market drying up on a lot of weapons. The prices are going to rise, so get in there now and buy buy buy

My printer ran out of ink or I would be filling the paper work out now. Looks Like a trip to Wal-Mart tonight. But thats cutting in to my gun money.

This question may be better served on the C & R Forum board, but I'll ask here...I'm in the Army, which means I move every 2-3 years. Am I going to have to re-submit the license (and pay the $) every time, or can I just send in some sort of change of address form?

If memory serves, you have to send the license to them with a change of address form and they send you a new one with the new address. No new fee.

I assume a copy of the C & R would have to be sent to the new CLEO as well.

I just recieved the Application packet in the mail From BATFE. The application has a Carbon copy. Is the copy for the CLEO or do I need to make another copy to send to the CLEO??
TIA,
Mike

Yes, you send one copy of the application to the CLEO. He doesnt have to sign off on it or anything. its just a "notification". You dont need to get anything in return from him. And he can do whatever he wants with your application (shred it, file it, etc.). Then you send your copy to the ATF and wait for them to approve it.
