re1973 inspired me in another thread, when he mentioned that he put on a demonstration involving a flaming trash can and a trigger locked fire extinguisher.

I whipped this up in a hurry, hopefully Oleg or someone with more photoshop talent than I can do a better one.

One of the reasons that my ex-gf left was because of the firearms. I explained to her that her new cutlery set sitting on the kitchen counter in her new apartment was far more accessible, and just about as dangerous as any firearm. Needless to say, a moment of logic was not her new friend. :p

I prefer since that "T" word gets used for everthing, to have a plan , have a back up plan, practice methods and strategy...etc. Yes I have a black laptop, one polymer gun and a black Krups coffee pot and bean grinder.

I have no idea where the black trigger lock came from...oh yes I do [I'd almost forgotten]...This is really gonna add to the whole dealie with the anti Instructor [I'm so tacky] I rec'd it from a sheeple at the mall whom was preaching the evil of guns and how all guns would be ( ahem) safer with a free lock. :D I'm bad and tacky huh?:D So It seems I used a free trigger lock against one of their own!!

Oh my, Skunk is gonna rush out and get a tactical coffee maker and bean grinder...this ought to be good.:)

Besides, only trained professionals should fight fire. You're giving yourself a false sense of security and risking a major conflagration by attempting such amateurish tactics. It's Amazing What One Has to Believe to Believe in Gun Control:

That since a gun isn't 100% effective for self defense, you should get rid of it, along with your first aid kit and fire extinguisher, since they aren't 100% effective, either.

That we should require trigger locks and safe storage facilities for all guns in order to prevent accidents, just like we require all household chemicals to be kept in a locked cabinet.

That trigger locks do not interfere with the ability to use a gun for defensive purposes, which is why it makes sense that police officers are exempt from using them on their duty weapons.

Actually, if you wear seatbelts airbags are statistically more likely to harm you than provide any additional safety (except for side-impact airbags) -- it is unlikely that an airbag will provide any additional safety at all if you wear a seatblet. Requiring airbags was another blissninny "solution" to the underrepresented/misunderstood/whatever people who don't wear seatbelts and get themselves hurt/dead. Airbags should be a choice, not a requirement that wastes lots of money (do you know how much it costs to reset 2 airbags? about a third the cost of my car!), and puts me in danger (I always wear a seatbelt).

Keep yourself safe:
wear a seatblet and disable your aribag!

Looks like one of those semi-automatic sniper fire extinguishers to me. I've been reading about those on the internet. Seems they kill 3.237 children per day. I don't know how they kill fractions of children, but that's what they do, all right. Glad that one's got a trigger lock on it.

In fact it would make a good demonstration for those who believe trigger locks are necessary - under controlled conditions start a nice grease fire. Have subject sheeple put the fire out before the whole kitchen goes up. First thing they have to do after locating the extinguisher is find the key to the lock.

I would take a picture of that dangerous device alone. The picture seems a little cluttered, as I had to look for about 30sec to find the trigger lock.

If they arent looking for it or have never seen a trigger lock (such as myself), they wouldnt know it was there.

That's a valid point. You should NEVER lock one that's loaded. It's unsafe. Empty it first.

Airbags CAUSE accidents. If it deploys from a minor bump, you're likely to smack something if you're still moving--it bruises your wrists, throws your hands off the wheel, and obscures your vision. Additionally, as it's unsafe to have an infant in the front seat with an airbag, you have to constantly reach over to the rear to deal with said infant, thus being distracted from driving. Or else risk having said infant smashed to jelly by said airbag.

I favor "airbag locks" myself, to prevent them going off by accident. :D

And I will never @^$% drive a car that has one. Even if I have to blow it off myself and epoxy the cover back over an empty slot. I wear seatbelts. Seatbelts work. As long as the user uses them.

Actually, you can draw a great parallel between airbags and trigger locks--both are attempts to bypass human stupidity. Both cause more trouble than they avoid.

And my minigeeks climbed to the counter and accessed the kitchen knives at 18 months. This is why I keep them on a 6' shelf (The knives, not the kids. I just duct tape the kids). Junior geek (Eric Vatbrok Williamson ;)) is not quite three and still unsure of such things.
