Mil issue carry straps can be had for less than $10 and are as good as anything out there.

While the carry strap can work, I prefer something more convenient. Specifically one that allows you to change the length without mucking around with it and a quick release to get out of the sling.

I like the Vicker's Tac sling from blue force gear although there are other good ones as well.

I put a LaRue padded 2 point sling on my AR, no complaints. A little pricey, but when you get a box full of freebies with your order, its worth it:D
