Has anyone had any breakages with a current Win 70 Classic?

I've read that the extractors and some other parts have been MIM in the last few years. MIM is not a good material to make and extractor out of. Has anyone had any actual breakages with these rifles?

Thanks,
Steve

I haven't seen one break, but Jim Wisner, formerly of Precise Metalsmithing and currently running Wisner's, Inc. reports seeing several of them fail. He makes replacement extractors of machined spring steel.

I haven't used one of those extractors, but I do have one of Jim's three-position safety conversions on a CZ 550 and it's a beautiful and extremely well-made unit. If I had one of the new Model 70s, it would get one of his extractors.

Best,
Joe

Steve;

I've got a new model Winchester 70 classic, one of the first production run from the late nineties. I shoot it a fair amount also & have not had a problem in that area. I will however inspect it & report further if I see anything out of whack.
