In the summer, if there's no t-shirt between your gun and skin, as you slip your lone covering garment over the pistol, that steel gun is a might coooooold, ain't it? But a plastic fantastic feels just fine. I generally like steel, but today I wore a Taurus PT 24/7 OSS/DS Tactical .45 for this reason, for part of the day.

Well, ok, the slide is still cold, but at least the frame & grip are warm.

Buy a inside the waist holster with the shield guard. It keeps the gun off the skin.

At the same time, a polymer gun, being a worse transmitter of heat, also keeps the grip-brand at bay after leaving your gun in the car for the day.

I think that the only benefit of polymer during summer is that it is lighter and possibly easier to carry/conceal with lighter clothing.

I am not too worried about cold steel against bare skin in summer, winter perhaps, but not summer.

In the winter, it's not an issue, because you are wearing an undershirt. Or at least, *most* people do.

I'm thinking that the right *HOLSTER* is going to solve both my digging-in problem (described in another recent thread) and the cold gun problem simultaneously. :)

I always wear atank top under my overshirt for concealment comfort. I also have always carried plastic gins for my CCW.
