Legal Question for Selling C&Rs

What process would I, as an Arizona resident, follow if I were to ship a rifle to a C&R or FFL holder? I hold neither license. Is it as simple as shipping to them? Do I need to obtain a copy before shipping?

A non-licensee is not required to get a copy of a C&R or 01-FFL prior to shipping a firearm to them. Although, it is a good idea to do so for a little CYA. Under the law, all that is required is you believed the person you were shipping the gun to was a licensed C&R or 01. If they turn out not to be, they are the ones violating the law.
If you are shipping to a 01-FFL and you want to make sure he is licensed, you can just have him email his FFL number and go to ATF's EZCHECK and type in the number. It will let you know if it is valid. Doesn't work on C&Rs.
