Anyone else ever pick up on the Savage Model 99 with the great walnut and engraving used by Robert Duvall in the last scene in the movie Joe Kidd? It appears to have a leather lace on recoil pad that breaks the fine lines but it appears to be fully engraved and have fantastic walnut on it. I had saw this movie about 50 times and had never picked up on this rifle even being a lever gun till yesterday. Does anyone have a clue to what the take down rifle used by Clint Eastwood in the movie was?

It's a beut' for sure.

I sure would like to know where that rifle wound up at! It would have been a shame for that one to have gotten scratched filming the movie!
