I think it is missing a piece http://www.forsterproducts.com/Pages/hand_turner.htm

I`m not sure of the exact brand. There are several makers of neck turners and most are similar in design.

A lot of bench rest/machinists make their own,, I have a couple made by different benchresters. Most of them are better than the mass produced turners.

Hi Wilbur,

The neck turning tool that you have illustrated is a Marquart Neck Turner (pre 70's would be my guess). I owned and used one for decades. As far as I know, Marquart used the red iodized aluminum for the body of the tool. There is one telltale difference between the one that I owned and the one that you have illustrated; The allen-head screw that supports the turning mandrel (for depth of cut) does not have a washer with a reference scale on the missing washer.

This is an extremely durable neck turner and will provide you with final results of 0.0002" concentricity. The trick to obtaining great results is to lubricate the inside of the necks with a tool cutting oil. Also, you will want the obtain the proper diameter setup for your full length sizing die (die body and neck die mandrel) so that the neck will fit the Marquart mandrel properly. You will not realize proper results if this is not done.

Good luck with a great tool!

Thanks Matt, just what I needed to know. Now I just have to search thru 22 boxes for the rest of it:D
