Is that a trick question? :scrutiny: Could it be some kind of wax coating they use for packing?:scrutiny: Or is a joke sitting there & I can't see it? :scrutiny:

Wilsons smell like crayons so you can color yourself stupid after you realize how much you paid for a semi-custom production 1911. :neener:

If you'd have said every gun you pick up smells like kimchee, I'd completely understand. :D

You know, ever since I started using this Bull Frog stuff to clean & lube my guns, they smell like pancake syrup :neener: (No, really!)
There are some interesting smells in the gun industry :scrutiny:

Dang Skunk,

You're pretty thorough when you look at guns. I don't usually smell them. I wonder what the sales guys think when you're visually inspecting a pistol then stick your nose into it and take a big wiff!! Next pistol, you should tell the sales rep, "Yep, this smells like a keeper, I'll take it." :D

Hard cast lead bullets with wax lube, were fired through the gun?

That produces a crayon like smell.

If it looks good, feels good, smells good, tastes good, buy it! One has to trust his/her senses.

The smell is the protective wax that they use on their products.

I think that it is Renwax, some sort of superwax that knifemakers go nuts about. It is a great protectant as well as dry lube.
