My MC operator that I received a couple of weeks ago is very sharp as a factory gun, but I liked the armory kote all over the complete frame and slide of gun directly from Springfield. As this is my second 1911, the first one sold for lack of education on 1911's I wanted to do it right this time. With the 10-8 operator being very limited and very expensive runs, I wanted to get mine as close to a 10-8 operator as possible, with a few small changes, so far so good. I have taken the operator and added ED Brown magazine release with oversized button, 10-8 rear sight by Hilton Yam which I must say is outstanding, and a 10-8 performance flat trigger. Initially I though the flat trigger would be more aesthetically pleasing than truly useful but after putting about 80 rounds through it, I was really pleased. Now mine has not had the work or effort that was put into the 10-8 operators but Im not rich, but I do like the look and feel of mine so far. Im almost finished the last things I plan to add are a smith and Alexander mag-well and a pair of nighthawk gunner grips similar to the G10/strider grips then I will be completely finished and before I deploy this summer(Iraq) :uhoh:, I should be giving the last pictures and a range report. Oh yeah, a couple of small questions, is it normal for a brand new 1911 to fail to lock to the rear on final round on some relatively new magazines, but the gun overall is very tight, and how has the best deal on a 1k rounds of ball ammo for it?
