What shotshells are suitable for reloading?

Specifically are the Wal Mart bulk pack Winchest and Remington loads that have low brass reloadable? I am not even sure if the "low brass" is really brass, since it is a shiney silvery metal.

Can they be reloaded or just throw away?

Yes, they are reloadable.
No, they are not the best hulls in the world for reloading.

I prefer the remington hulls, look inside to be sure it doesn't have a cardboard base or plastic insert, if it doesn't use them. I also like the old AA winchesters.

Assuming you're doing 12 ga, a 1 oz target load going about 1150-1200 fps works out of just about any of the popular reloadable hulls. Same wad, same amount of powder.

Winchester AA both old and new
Any of the Remington plastic one piece brass base
Premier
Sts
Nitro
Game loads
etc.

The remington game loads are generally the best bet for reloadable hulls. They actually reload quite nicely and can be had for free. They did make a silver/steel based version, but the brass based version are good to go.

My reloading goal was to have a single load that would work with as many hulls as possible and not require machine adjustments. I ended up using just about any Remington one piece plastic hull (STS, Nitro, Premier, Game load, etc.), and old AAs. Performance was verfied over a chronograph and on the field. Worked awesome. Basically I could use any hull except the new AAs (required different crimp adjustments). They've been out a while so guess I should quit calling them the new AAs.

I think the Remington STS shotshells are the best. I also load the Winchester AA but the hulls are softer so they don't crimp that great. Also had some that have a slight bulge.

Hmmm, I just got 500 Win. AA hulls today, I am hearing a lot about bulges, hope I don't regret buying them. I got them for $20.00, couldn't pass them up.
