I read the Sticky "What's your Game", but I'm not sure where I fit. I would like to compete in something ( 1-to help improve my shooting and 2- to meet like minded "gun nuts"). I would like to not have to buy a lot of equipment to get started. Right now I have a .22 pistol,.22 rifle, .30-06 bolt rifle, 12 gauge pump, and a .357 revolver.
Another problem I'm having is I don't think there is anything close to me (around Charlotte, NC) at least not that i can find.
If Y'all have any suggestions on where I can start I would greatly appreciate it.

Charlotte has an excellent Rifle and Pistol Club. With your .22 pistol, bullseye would be the easiest and least expensive to get involved in.
Trap and skeet would also be fairly painless due to your shotgun. Chances are, your other guns aren't going to be well adapted to the sports that use those cartridges.

Mecklenburg Wildlife Defensive Shooters holds IDPA matches on the 4th Saturday of each month.
Grab that .357, a holster, a couple boxes of .38s, three speed-loaders, and a vest or jacket with pockets (and your muffs & glasses, of course). Show up and tell them you're new to the sport. Don't worry if your equipment isn't quite "right" -- they'll work with you to get you headed in the right direction.
(Even if the gun's not perfect -- longer than 4" barrel, for example -- you can generally shoot "not for score" and still get the experience and have a GREAT time.)
Even better, call them and see if you can come out to a practice night first to get your stuff squared away ahead of time.
If they're anything like the 10 or 20 clubs I've shot at, they'd be thrilled to have you!

The Silhouette shooting sounds like it would be fun but there again I haven't found anything in my area and i don't really know that much about it, but it sounds kind of like "back yard plinking".

Mecklenberg also used to shoot .22 silhouette.
