At gun show, I saw a 9mm carbine that was built on an FN/FAL lower. No gas tube, straight blowback, and a 79-shot drum magazine. I stood there in the aisle, stupefied, for a coupla-three minutes. Who'd a thunk it? Reckon what those 79 shot drums were originally designed for????

It is current conversion. You can see it advertised in the SGNs. I think it uses a Soumi(sp?) subgun drum.

They're 71-round drums from Finnish Suomi SMGs.

They are also tinkering with the idea of one in .45acp.

Fella on the falfiles already makes one in 45 ACP www.rhineland1.com

He has a 9mm FAL, versions of the 45 FAL that takes Thompson or M3 mags and is now tinkering with a 10 mm version. 10 mm could really take advantage of that barrel length.
