sorry if it's a repost, but WallyWorld is starting to sell Federal "Champion" 9mm FMJ in 50 round boxes for $8.97.
Actually found 5 boxes last night at 8:30.

"was there any other calibers?"
strange situation
I saw staff moving pallets of other merchandise from the back so I asked the sporting goods guy if he would go back and look for new ammo
he did
Came back with two small boxes.
One has a piddlin' few boxes of various other calibers and one box of shotshells.
That was IT.

Went in the Claypool Hill Va Walmart this past week end and they had 8 or 9 50 rd boxes of .40, 3 boxes of .44mag and 1 box of .357 mag Winchester Personal Defense ammo. First I have seen there in several weeks. I bought the .357 ammo.

They had zero .45, .40. 9mm, .357, .380 at my Wally World. The lady behind the counter asked what I needed and I said .380 and 9mm. She told me to hold on and pulled out the last 4 boxes of Federal 9mm from under the counter for me. And they were $8.97 for me as well.
Seems like they used to sell tons WWB 100 round boxs, then started the Blazer Aluminum 50 round boxes, then all I found was Blazer Brass 50 round boxes and now all they have are Federal 50 round boxes. Probably selling whatever they can get their hands on I guess.

I bought five of the $29.97 100rd wwb value packs of .45acp today.
They had about thirty boxes of 9mm wwb for $19.97 as well, I picked up one. First I've seen of the .45 since about December. Grateful to buy it at that price and yet I can remember paying $8.88 for the .45 and $6.88 for the 9mm a few years ago. :banghead:
I actually saw a box of .357Mag, I couldn't believe it. The .380 and the tooth fairy must not be far behind.

Whether you like of dislike WM, at least they have not jacked up prices like everyone else. Blazer Brass .40 cal. is still $12.97 per 50 and three blocks up the street at the LGS on the same day is $21.95. I got the CTD catalog today and could not believe what they are asking for FMJ target ammo, all brands.

I rarely have a positive thought about the human cesspool known as SuperChinaMart, but I'll say this,
I can only imagine what the price of ammo might look like right now if it wasn't for places like Walmart. It's a scary thought. And I don't trust most gunshops to hold the prices on anything.

Hmm, I've never seen this. Might be something to try out. I've seen the Blazer Brass for that price and the WWB 100 round packs.
I'm curious to see that stuff as I've just never heard of it or seen it. I wonder how it shoots.
Most handgun ammo or bulk .22 is hard to find around here but you can find it sometimes if you keep looking.

there were 4 boxes of 180grain blazers .40SW. I picked up only 2 cuz another guy behind me needed some .40's too. I could've been greedy and took 4 boxes since it's 6 per customer. I wanted to be nice.. so in place of the 2 boxes i shared with the other guy, i bought 2 boxes of CCI 17 HMR FMJ

My local WM got some in a few days ago. I initially thought it was new packaging for Blazer Brass since that's where they placed it on the shelf and pricing is identical.

The wally world here got in .45's which sold out almost immediately, 9mm which almost lasted a whole day, and some .40's which I bought a few boxes of..the federal champions look good too. They still had .40's today.
Seems to me 9mm and .45 are much more popular that .40. Good thing, because .40 is what I shoot, lol.

No ammo of any stripe of manufacturer at the WallyWorlds in my neck of the woods, and I check at all of them a couple of times a week. I haven't seen any 9mm in more than three months, in fact. It's just plain silly.

I bought some Champion yesterday too. In the last month I've found three different brands on their shelves: WWB, Blazer Brass, and now the Federal stuff. I have no problem whatsoever with the various suppliers - right now bullets is bullets and as long as they aren't Bubba's reloads I'll take them when I can find them at a decent price.

I have had poor luck in the past with the rifle ammo from wallie world so I don't buy it there any more. I hope the pistol stuff is better. I always wondered why the 22 LR was in 550 count boxes then I bought some. I got about 500 to fire. Tried several different firearms and it seemed to make no difference. Guess in this instance you get what you pay for-no more.

Primers are $30 per 1000.
The powder charge is 5 grains from a $17 can of powder. (yields 1400 charges @ 5 grains each)
Bullet is $70 per 1000 LEAD bullets. (which is perfectly adequate for most shooting)
So, for me, it breaks down thusly:
Primer = .03
Powder Charge - .012
Bullet = .07
Total: 11.2 cents a shot = $5.60 per box of 50 rds

I saw some of this ammo in the new style box at two of my local Wal-Marts, however it was .40 S&W not 9mm. Lots and lots of .40 and .45 ACP to be had, but no 9mm.

I don't agree. When small mom/pop stores were around we didn't have this problem. We had any gun Presidents before also, and for some darn reason I never had a problem with the store down the street having what I needed.
I still refuse to shop at Walmart, and I pay more for it. I'm not rich by any means, but it's important to me to keep the stores left. In my area Randalls, Shooters World, and Shooters Vault are small businesses that I frequent and spend money at instead of the anti-gun Walmarts of the area.
Anti-Gun? Yes, it's been discussed here before the policies that they have in videotaping and tracking ammo purchases.

I hate wal-mart, but I've said before, I will sacrifice my scruples for cheap ammo. Ever since I discovered my wal-mart gets its ammo shipment on Mondays, fresh 9mm is usually only a week or two away.
.380 and .40 seem to be the hardest to find around here.

No handgun ammo at WallyMart in Duluth MN, just rifle. My favorite gunshop, Superior shooters supply in Wisconsin (about 10 minutes from Duluth), has been the only place I can find 9mm or .38 special. Prices are high, $20 per box of 50 Blazer .38 special 158 gr. LRN. Also got Blazer .38+P 125 gr. JHP for the same price. 50 rnd. count 147 gr. 9mm Fioochi goes for $15.95. I've been dealing with this ammo shortage by buying a lot of Double Tap....may as well practice with the good sfuff for that kind of money. I scored though, a local police and fire supplier handed over a free bulb for my Surefire E2D defender! If you drop or get oil on those halogen bulbs, they will die shortly after.
