Any collectors here?

Hello all. I am about to get this beauty from my mom who fired it only three times. Just wondering if it's a collector's piece or not? I googled it but cannot find anything about a 2" stainless steel. She can't remember when she bought it, she said sometime in the early 70's and paid a little over $100 for it.
Thanks for any info
Eddie

1960's era Model 30 Hand Ejector judging from the blue box.
It is chambered for the .32 S&W Long cartridge.
It's nickel finished, not stainless steel.
Thats about all I can tell you without the serial number and possibly the dash model number inside the cylinder crane cut in the frame.
Probably worth in the $400+ range.

Ooooo, that would be a sweet little Roscoe to have! .32 ain't the most powerful thing out there, ammo might be hard to find, but what a sweet little Pocket Pal that would make!

rc, thanks for the info. I haven't actually seen the gun, just the picture. I will be getting it in the near future. At that time I'll get the numbers.
Also, a question about replies. I've seen replies with quotes in them. I wanted to put your reply but can't figure out how to do it. You know how?
And as for the finish. I don't think I've ever seen a "nickle" finish. Is it still being used today?
Thanks
Eddie

Cut & paste it into the message box.
Then highlight it and click the little yellow "Quote Balloon" button at the top of where you are typing.
It will put at each end of the highlighted text.
S&W is still making a few "Classic" guns with the nickel finish.
For the most part though, stainless steel construction has made it no longer necessary.
It was a popular option years ago for corrosion protection.
Especially on pocket or hide-out guns.

re: quotes: I think I got it rc, thanks.
I've never seen a nickle-coated gun. They must be rare, eh?
I can hardly wait for my nickle-coated classic to arrive.

Nickle plating was quite popular before revolvers were made in stainless steel, so no, it's not rare really.
I don't have the figures but someone must know the percentage of nickeled to blued S&W revolvers? It could be in the Supica book or more likely in the back of the mind of the old fuff.
