Just wondered if anybody has any experance with a Cahrle Daly.
I have a 1911 clone and love it. Now I'm thinking of getting a rifle in 300 Win Mag.

The Charles Daly rifles are the good 'ol Mk-X Mauser made in Zastava, Serbia, formerly Yugoslavia.
The rifles, I understand, are now coming into the country.

The Mk-X's are an excellent rifle. I have one that I bought for $149.00 plus sales tax in 1975, in .30/06. I killed my first of many deer with it in 1976. It had/has an excellent barrel (24" with 4 grooves) and was capable of under 1" 5 shot groups.

I had it rebarreled to .338/06 this past year with an Adams & Bennett barrel and it's giving 1.25" groups with original stock which now looks like a wooden bannana (bent in forend) but is still free floating. Headed to Colorado next Wed. for first ever Elk hunt.

The C-D rifles should be a first rate rifle at a bargain price as they were back in '70's and '80's under the Interarms banner. The "Whitworth" versions in large magnum calibers (.375 H&H and .458 WinMag) were really gorgeous rifles and today would command $$$$ new. Grab one of those if you find one.

I plan on getting one of the C-D rifles in the "Superior" grade version as they are offering it in .30/06 in a LEFT hand action version.
Suggested retail is about $565.00, so should be available for around $399.00 or less discounted.
A real bargain for some "Old World" craftsmanship that the Zastava plant was know for. It was heavily bombed during the Balkan conflicts and has recently been reconstituted and back into production.
