Still recovering from as yet picked up 1917 custom Colt, I went to Marklie's gun shop to take digital pictures of my prize. Of course there was bigger fish than mine! Somebody up and died and left a histoically significant collection. High point is a S&W Volcanic pistol #18 in 90% at $7500 and lots of cool SAA's and old antique S&W's. Ones I want are: a 90% 5 screw post war S&W model 18 .22 for $325, a 125th aniversary Colt .45 7.5" made in 1961 gold plated accents 100% for $1000, and lastly a 1898 Colt SAA US marked 7.5"that was redone with elaborate Gold inlays (very fine work) and Fire Blue by Colt in 1949 for a general commemorating wwII victory with a(detachable) factory shoulder stock(metal) in 98% for $2200. Now I ca'nt get them all:( but I trotted down my 95% Colt 1917 Army in its original 1917 holster and my 95% 1903A4 Springfield with Scope and original cases to put out for sale . The hoss trading is frantic. My pictures of 1917 Custom will be coming this week (I hope) . BTW do those prices sound good?:)

Uh oh , too good to be true: according to blue book 24th edition the 125th aniversary edition SAA is 3rd gen made in 2001 NOT 1961! It is however worth $1150 in 98%. I can't figure out the 5 screw " model 18" . I wonder if it has ramped sights and 4" barrel if it is a Model 18 or what? It has frame mounted firing pin but has 5 screws and is pinned and recessed. I don't think I can afford the stocked SAA, its a little too garish for me any way:(

If it's a 5-screw, it's a pre-Model 18 K-22 Combat Masterpiece.

These were made between 1949 and 1955, when the top sideplate screw was eliminated.

Model numbering didn't come along until 1957.

$325 seems to be a pretty good price for this gun, actually.

Watsonville California, tell em Gordon sent you. Like I said they have about 300 or so guns maybe a little more. Don't expect acres of gun. They consistently hit at or below blue book AND they have an indoor range to try something if your serious. Right now they got ALOT OF GOOD STUFF. If you like Colt SAA's , antiques, mausers and some nice revolvers ect. Watsonville is between Santa Cruz and Monterey. Now as you homeboys know California gun prices tend to be higher than rest of country, so this place is good.!:)
