Rimfire bowling pin match

Shot my first .22 pin match a week or so ago and it was great fun. We cut the tops off standard pins for targets and still shot at 7 yards.
While I missed the satisfying BOOM of my 1911, my Sig 220 .22 with CCI Minimags did a great job against these evil pins. Best of all, shot $7 worth of ammo versus the $50 I generally burn through...

Pins are a great time. Trying to get our local league up and running again.

Were there any issues regarding bounce backs with the rimfires?
Years ago, I got hit from a richocet when some friends and I were participating in a .22 caliber trash dump shooting frenzy and a large porcelain object was selected as a target. Didn't penetrate it or me, but left a much bigger mark on me than the target. Especially when I fell over in the trash heap while checking the extent of my injuries. The others still enjoy telling the story..... but sadly, good side of the dirt road trash dumps are hard to come by in our area these days. Howard

No, but for rimfire matches, we take the shot up pins and cut them off about 7 inches or so from the top. We only use this top part for the target. They fly off the table much easier than the "whole" pins! LOL!:D

WE shoot pins with .22. The pistol shoots are at 25' and the pins are set on the back edge of the table and a shotgun hull is set on the shelf about as the "tie' breaker. :) We also do a rim fire and center fire rifle shoots. The targets are at 50, 100 and 150 yards. It is good competition especially shooting off hand. We are allowed to use the benches but only your elbows are allowed on the table no part of the rifle can touch the bench or a rest. If you stand you get extra point just for shooting off hand. It is a great time and all the practice you do pays off in some great shooting.
