S & w 1066

Can anybody help? The Safety/Decocker on a S&W 1066 when put on safe does not Decock the gun. Any Ideas? The Safety works. The only way to Decock is to insert an empty magazine and pull the trigger.

That sure doesn't sound right, at all.
I think I would call S&W and ask them.
