I've been poking around on Bushmaster's site for a while now, and after seeing their current models and the new :barf: Carbon-15 series (with their 2-liter-looking thing stuck on the front of the receiver), I was wondering if the good ol' triangular, no-nonsense forearm is still around. Any ideas? Input?

Thanks in advance :)

We have a whole bucket of 'em (and A1 buttstocks, with and without cleaning kit compartments) at a local shop here. $5/each I think.

If for some reason you want triangular handguards, they are readily available and are a direct replacement for the round handguards on a standard AR15 A2 or A3 . The "2-liter-looking thing stuck on the front of the receiver" is a float tube. It allows the barrel to be free floating resulting in increased accuracy. You wouldn't be able to attach triangular handguards to a rifle that currently has a float tube like that unless you were willing to do some work, and this is assuming that the Carbon 15 rifle is made with all the same dimensions as a standard AR15. And in so doing you would be exchanging looks for performance.

Having seen and picked up a pre-Bushy Carbon 15 (but not buying), the handguard is not as big as the picture my imply. It's actually oval shaped with the maximum diameter in the verticle and the minimum diameter in the horizontal. It may look big from the side but from the front or back, it is pretty narrow.
