Boys Says He Found Gun In Uncle's Jacket
POSTED: 8:33 a.m. EDT October 19, 2003
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police say a 6-year-old boy took a pistol and ammunition to his Northside elementary school last week.
The boy told investigators he took the gun he found in the hood of his uncle's jacket because he was afraid his uncle might hurt someone with it. A fellow student at Garden City Elementary School told a teacher's aide about the gun, and the boy was detained.
Police want to find out more before deciding whether to charge the 6-year-old with carrying a concealed weapon.
Garden City principal Elizabeth Wierda told Channel 4 that a note about what happened was sent home to parents, and teachers in every third through fifth grade classroom discussed the incident with their students.

And six-year-olds always tell the truth.
He probably just took it to show his friends, thought it was neat. The story did not mention how the gun was discovered. Fell out of his pocket? Showed it to the wrong person?
The kid probably just needs a good "talking to". The uncle too. Maybe the family tree needs to be pruned a little :)

Mmmm, I'm thinking the family tree has no branches? Or, someone is not training their children very well.
"I found it." Hey, I hear THAT a lot.
El Tejon: "O.K., the police report says that you claimed to have 'found' the marijuana. Anything incorrect about that."
Person in Tippecanoe [county jug] Blue: "Other than I was lying to him, no, it's right."

There was time when familes taught responsibility and family values. Public schools mirrored this. Gun safety, was taught in the home along with other valuable life skills.
Now the schools indoctrinate the evils of guns. Indoctrinate the kids with the teachings of the state.
This kid and and his account don't add up to me.
I guess next the state indoctrinations will include little johnny bringing some "cash" he found in his Uncle's hood. I mean it is cash, maybe Uncle fixed the neighbors flat tire and the neighbor insisted on a "cash" payment. No johnny's Uncle might not have paid his taxes to the state. We need to check for traces of drugs. The neighbor might be a terrorist.
Yes little johnny bring the cash in-- supposed WoT, WoD , are not good for the state, cadet johnny has listened well in indoctrination.
Little johnny did good getting that evil gun away from the uncle, guns are bad, see the statistics of the state say so "uncle might hurt himself"...run along johnny...check that cookie jar your aunt has too...you can save her from evil too...

Frankly, they should have lectured the kid on
A) Stop/don't touch/leave/find an adult and
B) Not stealing other people's stuff.
Just because it's a gun doesn't mean that B no longer applies. :fire: :fire: :fire:
C) Who the heck keeps stuff in their hood?
D) If you take the kids at his word, it's pretty clear that the indoctrination has taken hold, and another Statist Youth has begun his career.

Eddie Eagle is not a friend of the state comrade. ;)
We must do all for the state, have you not been watching our state run movies from hollywood. Have you not been listening to our state media. Comrade, we need for you to come in and have some black tea, we will send a car to retrieve you. :)
It is for the good of the state you understand.

"...find out more...": some para-legal in the DA's office has been assigned to research legal precedent for the youngest child to be "tried as an adult"....from which the DA is contemplating how this fits in with his "tough on crime" campaign in the next election? :D

Very carefully crafted question;) ...all us non-lawyers wonder if these techniques are actually taught in law school, or just learned "on the job", as a criminal defense lawyer?

hammer, actually I learned that from Professor Kling (the guy that's always on A&E) at C-K. It's a good starting point without putting anyone on the defensive.:)

Up in my region had a 1st grader take a pistol to shool and shoot a classmate in the head killing her. He was angry with her for ignoring him.
