Hello All,

Sorry if I've overlooked a thread about this already.

I need to find a disassembly guide/schematic for a Savage/Springfield 187R .22 rifle. I can't seem to find one with google. Does anyone have one or know where I can get one?

The safety is the main part that I'm not sure how to put back together (I took the rifle apart a week or two ago so my memory is fuzzy). Also I have one litte.... half moon clip piece (and I'm drawing a blank as to what that's really called, it's 6 in the morning here and I haven't got to bed yet....) left over, but I'm pretty sure that's for the safety. I don't see anywhere else it would go.

Anyway if no one knows where to get a manual then if anyone has this rifle perhaps you could post a couple pictures of how the safety goes together?

Thank you for the help.

Edit: If I haven't explained myself propperly I can upload a few pictures of what I'm talking about. Thanks.

There is a guy who advertises assembly guides on Gunbroker.com, he might have what you need. Just search for it and write him a note to see if he has it for your piece. You may be able to reach him here as well rather than through gunbroker.com:

texastradingpost@tx.rr.com

sales@texastradingpost.com

You can also use Brownells site to look for diagrams and assembly guides after you register. http://www.brownells.com/

http://www.gun-parts.com also may have your diagram.

If none of this works, let me know, I might have a savage in the shop somewhere I can take some pics of already assembled and take it apart and see how it goes. :banghead:

Mike

There's an exploded drawing of a 187 Series A on Gunparts' site. Shouldn't be too much different, if at all different. And here. http://stevespages.com/ipb-springfield-187.html

Thanks to everyone for the help. I got it put back together now. A good nights sleep helped quite a bit too. :)
