Howdy all,
I'm looking for high quality pics of BP pistols. Flint, percussion, C&B doesnt matter. I want to use them as wallpaper for my computer. Would really love good pics of a Le Mat and a Paterson!

BHPfan - Not mine, but it says "J. Purdey Prince Street Leister Square, London" as it is a Purdey Howdah pistol, made in 1825.

It fires a .648 ball and was made for shooting tigers if one was attacked while riding an elephant.

I wish I could afford to own that beautiful example, but the most I can hope for is to get one of these great .50 cal replicas available from Pedersoli:

I plan on getting one of these at some point and have entertained the idea of having a faux damascus finish applied to the barrels to mimic that awesome Purdy. Cherry's has them from $650 to $695 depending on the caliber - hopefully, that price will drop once the crazy ends.

ps - Yes, those are safeties to be engaged at the half-cocked position. You can see the internal assembly at the site I posted. Try not to drool all over your keyboard...
