Prince William County officer Ralph Daigneau, crime scene analyst arrives carrying evidence for opening arguments in the John Allen Muhammad sniper trial at Circuit Court in Virginia Beach, Virginia October 20, 2003. The box Daigneau was carrying was labeled 'evidence/property....Tasco brand rifle scope' and 'location of recovery....floor rear of drivers side....vehicle'. Muhammad is charged in the shooting death of a 53-year-old Maryland man gunned down in Prince William as he refueled his car in Manassas, Virginia, on Oct. 9, 2002. REUTERS/Rick Wilking S

I thought they had used a scope... that appears to be a postban Bushmaster M4 with Yankee Hill trirail gasblock and a holosite - plus a decidely not evil 10rd. castrated magazine and evil-free non-collapsing stock.

Serious problems with the Reuters story:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/crime_sniper_dc
8th paragraph: " This automatic weapon has been linked to the 13 Washington-area shootings, including 10 murders, and was found in a blue Chevrolet Caprice where Muhammad and Malvo were arrested on Oct. 24, 2002."
Automatic weapon? I don't think so.

This automatic weapon has been linked to the 13 Washington-area shootings...
That's pretty accurate for Reuters reporting: only one egregious lie.

I'm surrpised Reuters didn't refer to the Defendants as "freedom-fighters" or "militants" given their typical mode of reporting about Islamic terrorists.

Are you sure the caption is correct?
"The weapon used..."? From that photo, they have the rifle in an action photo, with the bipod doing the walking. Can't you see the phallic symbol of the 10 round magazine dangling in between the bipod legs?
Run away!!! RUN AWAY!!! The rifle is out to get you!!! RUN AWAY!!!
