My job prospect came through. I intend to give my two weeks' notice at the end of this week, then I'm moving back to my home town of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The job's in Santa Fe, which means a daily commute of about 60 miles, but that'll go down to about 45 once I get settled farther north. I've made the drive on a weekday morning already, and with a 75 MPH speed limit and practically no civilization in between, it goes pretty quick.

High on the list of Things To Do:

1. Apply for shall-issue CCW.
2. Fire (for the first time) the AR I've had there for 3 years now.

Would any Californy-based High Roaders be interested in a very-little-used P32?

Sorry... These are only available on the used market in Cali, so I want to give the disadvantaged Cali-based people first crack at it.

Gotcha. Let me know if you don't find any takers in the PRK.

My congratulations as well. NM is a beautiful place. I've been gone for 2 years. The employment situation here is not very good but I hope to change that. I got my "shall issue" CCW after I had been here the mandatory 6 months.

Welcome Home; congratulations on coming back to America! :D

NM's gorgeous, and there's nothing like a high-desert sunrise. I love the food, too.

If you're happy, we're happy.:)

You can take the commuter van with THR's Erich and talk about guns every morning and evening. "So, DJJ, let me tell you what a moron El Tejon is.":p

Welcome to the world.
I made my escape a few years ago; been living free ever since.

At least, the Cali subjects don't need a homemade ballon to escape and are not shot at, sneaking out of the state (yet!).

Welcome to the United States of America!

I've got one but last I heard they were going for 4 or 5 hundred. I'll pass the word around.

Guard your wallet with both hands. I escaped 4 months ago yesterday. I've bought 3 pistols, 2 rifles, and 2 shotguns since then, and dunno when it's gonna end....

Broke and happy, like bein' in a candy store.:D :D :D :D :D

I predict you'll miss the People's Republic of California less than 1% as much as a migraine head ache.

Good for you!!! I wouldn't even fly over the PRK, for fear of the airliner having engine trouble and being forced to land!!!!!:D

P-32s were only on the CA market a few months before the horrid drop test law made it illegal to sell them new.

The only way to get one is to do a person to person sale in CA.

The only way for more to legally get into CA is for someone who owns one to move there. There is some debate that perhaps somone visiting could decide to sell their P-32 while on vacation....

Congrats, at least you are going "home". We left "home" to come to SATX. We like it, but we miss our family pretty bad.

For those not in the know, the P-32 is a 6ox .32ACP auto - a very nice carry gun when you cant carry a gun.

They go for $400+ in CA because they are so darned hard to get. I see them here for $175ish.

Get out. Its better on the outside.

Sometimes I think about jumping the fence, for many reasons.
What have you noticed most about leaving Cali?

Congrats! I left the PRK in '87 (born and raised there) for Idaho and haven't regretted that decision for a second!

Kind of a long shot, there, papercut.
Why don't you let me get across the border first. :uhoh:

I'm glad I didn't have to make that choice. Must be tough.

Congrats, DJJ-Man! I did some hard time in the PRK myself, in the late 70's and early 80's (sent there from AZ to try and make a living).

It was bad back then, but no where near as bad as you later inmates have had it. I tunneled out in 1985 and never looked back.

As for what I miss about living in Kalifornia? About as much as I miss my last case of jock-itch.

Welcome to freedom!!
