Taurus 80, good or bad trade?

First off, I'm relatively new here. So greetings!
Secondly, I am trading a guy for a Taurus model 80. I know little off these guns but I gather that it was made in Brasil before they moved to the US. Does any one have experience with this firearm? Are they a decent revolver? Should I look for anything in particular before I trade? It is a 6 shot .38 4'' barrel.

A buddy of mine had one and it appeared to be a clone of my model 10. Shot good and seemed of decent quality. I saw one not long ago go for $160 locally. X

Ben, some folks love a Taurus. They can be a good deal IF you get a good one. I work with a guy that loves his 669 but our company owner just bought a new 94. Siezed up after 3 shots. Taurus is a minority at our range but most often when we see a firearm problem, it's a Taurus. Just check it out real good and hope for the best. Good luck.

Well, it got decent in the mid 80s. I have an older 66 with the hammer block action (vs the newer transfer bar action) built in the 80s and the trigger in both DA and SA doesn't match my newer 66, but it still shoots very accurately. This gun has had enough rounds through it that when I got it, it had a pachmayr grip on it with all the molded checkering worn off the back side of it from all the years of recoil with what must have been .357 loads. It's still tight and well timed. I got it for cheap and I'm REAL happy with it. It's a 3" gun and carries well IWB.
