Cabella's Back Order Issue's

Placed my Cabella's order for small pistol and small rifle primers April 3rd. Initially estimated delivery was 3 or 4 weeks.
I kept getting emails that it is being pushed out. No big deal...just get them to me when you can and its my turn.
Today I get an email that cancelled it altogether. Upsetting because I did pass up other opportunities to buy primers as I thought I was getting close to Cabella's delivery.:banghead:
Anyone else with this problem?

Oh, boy. Don't have an answer for you as Cabelas has treated me well on back orders. Like you, I've just been patient and eventually they show up.
Last night I ordered some Winchester small pistol and large pistol primers from Cabelas at the $29.99/thou price. Of course they were backordered but were expected to ship before the end of this month. Also, like you, I'll now pass up other opportunities to buy in the hope that they eventually come through. Never known them to cancel before.
Well, it's either this or the Gunbroker auctions; and primers are a real ripoff on gunbroker now. Maybe someone at Cabelas decided they could do better on the auctions.

I'm suprised they done that. Never had that happen. I would call their 800 # and talk with someone. They will be able to tell you why.

I got an email saying if I didn't call them an order would be canceled. I called and the operator went thru every B/O I have with them (7 currently) and claimed to mark them to not be canceled. A week later I checked my account online and saw one had been canceled. Two days later I got an email informing me. I wrote and complained and they reinstated the order, adding 2 months to the delivery date.
What's most interesting is that I am tracking multiple orders for different calibers, from different manufacturers. Each time I get a new backorder date from them, which happens now monthly, all of the orders get the same new expected date, regardless of what's on the order. Makes it seem to me that they just make up dates as they go.
I won't cancel what I have ordered, but won't order more. I've been having good luck getting ammo on gunbroker.com.

I called they said an email went out that I did not respond to and the order was cancelled...
Kinda of a bummer cause I've been anxiously waiting since April 3rd.
They were happy to reorder them for me and move me to the back of the line...Thanks

I had an order with Cabela's since 18th of March. Last month they also sent me a notice that it was cancelled. Same reason. Supposely they sent a notice and I was to call them to keep it active. I checked all my email from them and still have not found one that mentions calling them. Tried to reinstate it and the answer was, no. Made two more orders and tried to get one of them moved to the spot where my cancelled order was, no go.
I think this stinks but what can you do?

I just got notified by email that a backorder for 1000 rounds of Wolf 7.62x39 FMJ ammo was cancelled. That order was placed on 4/7. Cabelas just said that they could not supply the product. Seems odd as Wolf ammo is starting to appear more frequently at other vendors. Maybe new pricing is the issue.
There wasn't any warning or "call us" email; I was watching for one. However, 1000 rounds of Wolf x39 HP that I ordered at the same time was shipped and delivered last week.
Whatever the backorder policy was, it appears to be changing.

I orderd some primers from them mid march. Got the same e-mail about needing to call them to keep my order. So I called them and as of now they are still on order. Actually I just checked and 1 box of sm rifle just shipped. I hope you can call them and get back in line where you left off, I have nothing but good things to say about there customer service. I have had 1 or 2 hicicups with them throughout the years and they have corrected them for me with no problems.

Cabelas in Buda, Tx had tons of ammo & large rifle primers (haven't seen those ANYWHERE on a brick & mortar store shelf) this week.
Good luck, I finally caught up with restocking & finishing out my loading bench.
Just got a 222 & 30-30. Good to go for a while, screw Obama!!

I ordered some Winchester small pistol and large rifle primers back on April 16th. They kept bumping the shipping date and they now tell me the shipping date for the pistol primers is June 26th. Based on prior experience, I should get an email any minute now telling me my new shipping date is in late July.

I checked each of the primer brands at Cabela's and noticed they had different lead times for each manufacturer.
I needed some LP primers and the shortest backorder showed 1~2 weeks for Remington brand, which would have been 6/15. I ordered those and they shipped on 6/16 and arrived on 6/19. So it was only a two week wait.
I also ordered some Winchester SP primers which showed 2~4 weeks, making it the end of June. And I have gotten the same emails the rest of you have gotten with a tentative arrival of 6/26. So I expect them to get the Winchester primers within a few days.

i got the same email saying mine was still on back order and to reply if they wanted me to keep it on back order. I replied yes.
They replied back with the following:
Dear Shawn,
Thank you for your email,
The item came into our warehouse on the 24th and is processing to ship out. We will email you when the item has shipped out. If there is anything else we can do please let us know.
Thank you

I did the same thing in April... it said 2 weeks. I am hoping to get them next week. Sometimes it works out..sometimes it doesn't

I think this hoarding shortage is going to break soon. But I'm down to my last 600 primers.
I just ordered 2K of three different brands from Cabellas. Which ever brand comes in first I'll take it, and cancel the others remaining on back order. Last night Natchez advised me they had my primers in. I tried to order them forty-five minutes after they sent their e-mail to me. All the primers were gone in less than a hour. No luck... :cuss:

Good luck. I can't quite figure out why I can now get primers at the local level and not via the internet. It used to be just the opposite.
