Shotgun Weaponlights with LED Navigation Lights

The Surefire M900 and M500s have LEDs on them...IMO it would be nice to see a similar system for the shotguns--a Millenium 6 or 9V light with low power LEDs for moving around in the dark without blinding ourselves.
I just got off the phone with Surefire and they said they aren't making anything like it or at least the tech on the phone knows about.
Just thinking aloud. I think it would be a great system.

I don't know. I still haven't been sold on the practicality of nav lights. It would seem to me that i would do better to move through my own house with no lights to give myself away and then if i come up on someone to use a LIGHT to really see them. Now if i was a cop or someone who had to move through spaces they were unfamiliar with i can see how nav lights might be good.
I've gone real simple with my lights, either no light or constant light until the threat is stopped or ID is made. No flash dancing or multiple light switches.

If in a situation where you have to point a gun at something or someone, I figure that you'd want as much candlepower as possible to identify/blind it.
Rembering the 4 rules, a dedicated gun light souldn't be used as a navigation light. In my training, personal (not LEO/military) weaponlights are only used intermittently and not needed to be left 'always on', thus economy of LEDs don't really play a part. If this was a LEO tactical system, doctrine around here call for 'always on' but also with plenty of back-up. If entering a danger area, I'd want maximum illumination on target.

The only thing that I can think of that currently is can do that besides the SF M900 is a Insight M3 LED, which I am considering for the same thing for my M1 which can't take the SF forend. I'm going to be using the Benelli mount with it. Just need to order the mount at this point.
