Well seeing as it looks like my forge isn't going anywhere soon, I decided to drag it out this afternoon. I had almost forgotten what a massive PITA playing with steel can be... Almost. At least I have a rough start though.

Yes, but for some reason I can't attatch it. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I get a failure message instantly.

OK, here is a picture of the rough blade form with the parent harrow spike above. And in case anyone is wondering, the slight curve is totally "tactical..." Kind of like the old Gerber mark II... It's certainly not because I'm a giant wimp who got tired of straightening it as I was drawing out the blade... Now for alot of filing and sanding.

Begging to say "hog slaughtering" all over it. Don't wrap the handle with non hill billy soon to get yucky nylon cord please.

Not that I don't have supreme confidence in something I knocked out in a couple of hours out of unknown steel... But I'm not sure if I'd go toe to toe with something that has the ability and inclination to turn me into a eunuch with it. I think ALOT of T&E would be in order before that happened...

It's all about marketing these days. Hell, I think I even saw an ad for "Tactical toilet paper" somewhere... ;)

Nice start. It's gonna be wicked. On a side note, I saw... swear to God... tactical coffee in the last Sportsman's Guide.

Any input on what to make the scales of? American chestnut? Walnut maybe? Not that I'm going to get around to it anytime soon... I have way too many projects going on at the moment. BTW, IJOSEF, Your stock is almost done and I'll get it in the mail this week.

if you wanna be hillbilly and tactical with the grip you could use leather rope and wrap the handle like the guys do with paracord
or for a nicer look use some nice bone
otherwise the wood of your choice
