I inhereted a shotgun from my grandfather. When I looked at the proofs on it,I discovered it was proofed in Liege. However, there were more proof marks
stamped over the Belgians.When I saw them under a magnifying glass, they were waffenampts.The gun has a sling swivel on the barrel and buttstock. Looking on the net,I see info that shotguns were issued to Luftwaffe aircrews.
Could they also have been issued to guards at borders and jails? If anyone might have some knowledge about this I'd sure like to know more.
