Mossberg88 June 18, 2009, 11:38 PM In lieu of recent boredom, i've decided to goto my neighborhood hardware store and build a cabinet for my top 10 favorite that i currently own, i.e Garand, K98, Type 53, 1903 springfield etc.
On the top section above the glass pane i'm going to engrave something in the wood but not sure. Any input?
My initial thought was Molon Labe but i'm open for debate.
-Alex.

Mossberg88 June 20, 2009, 01:57 AM I have a few top contenders: Molon Labe *naturally* , In case of zombies, break glass., and "Bullets change governments far surer than votes" *quote from Lord of War w/ Nicholas Cage*.
riverrat373 June 20, 2009, 12:05 PM Forget the gun cabinet and buy a good, secure gun safe.
Threeband June 20, 2009, 01:35 PM "Molon Labe" on a glass-front cabinet sounds like an invitation for burglers.
"OK, I'll admit to illegal entry, but you'll never get me on grand larceny. The guns were clearly labeled 'come and take them'".
Ky Larry June 20, 2009, 01:48 PM Not to highjack the thread, but thieves love gun cabinets. It saves them the trouble of looking for you weapons. You've gathered them all up and put them in a central location. What could be easier?
renegade1alpha June 20, 2009, 04:05 PM If you are building one with glass in the front, don't waste your money engraving anything. It will just be a waste when its broken and your guns are taken. I personally would NEVER put my guns in anything that can so easily be broken into. All of my guns are in a steel safe that would take more time for a thief to get into than he/she was interested in.
If you want to show your guns off to people take them out of a safe to do it.
DammitBoy June 20, 2009, 08:37 PM There are glass cabinets made to withstand forced entry.
Impact resistant lexan polycarbonate is used instead of glass and the cabinet itself is usually metal clad in wood.
The ones I have seen have a lower storage compartment that is also fireproof to store ammo.
General Geoff June 20, 2009, 09:05 PM I like the "In case of zombies, break glass" suggestion :)
