Holy crap!!! :what:
I thought 3-4 weeks was the average wait time. I finally dropped mine in the mail Thursday night and was expecting to have mine by mid-November at the latest.
But then I did notice you do live in the People's Democratic Republic of Illinois....I don't know how much of a difference that makes.

Has anyone actually applied on their 21st birthday for one? It would be pretty cool to be able to not only CCW but order any C&R gun shipped to your house.

Curio & Relic Federal Firearms Licence. Basically means any good ol' firearm from way back (I'm unsure of exact age) and older can be shipped directly to the CRuFFLer instead of requiring shipment to a standard FFL holder (gun store, for example) . For examples, head over to http://www.aimsurplus.com/ and take a look around.

(I'm unsure of exact age)
That would be fifty years.
BTW, I applied for mine 9/14 and the check to BATFE cleared a week after and I'm still waiting for the cruffle. :scrutiny:

Congratulations and welcome to the ranks of Crufflers. Do not, under any circumstances, buy a Mosin-Nagant of any type. They are the most insidious, fast-breeding, infectious and fun species of C&R known to cruffledom. I got my C&R about a year ago and finally ordered something other than a Mosin; an Albanian SKS.:D :what:

First purchase was a CZ-52 from Century. I was quite giddy when the box was delivered to me. It almost felt like I was doing something illegal. :D
BTW, definitely go for a Garand when you can. There are some places online that will ship to C&R guys. I think Orion7 and Garand Guy will, if you don't go the CMP route.

I signed, dated and mailed my C&R application exactly on my 21st birthday. Got it ~5 weeks later, two weeks of which was due to MD holding up the process according to the ATF examiner I talked to.

Just keep putting money into the C&R fund while you're waiting. You can do a big order of guns when you finally get it. Shipping gets cheaper as you buy more.

Here's a good writeup on what you need to do.
http://www.cruffler.com/becomingcruffler.html
More specifically, get form 5310.16 from the ATF.

Does having a C&R license give the Feds the right to come to your house and see your guns or records?

I sent my application in on Sept. 16th and the check was cashed on the 23rd. I'm still waiting. I wish it would hurry up and get here. I keep adding to the list of 'cruffles' I want to buy.:D

OK, Garand on order.
Next up, one of those M44 laminated carbines.
Are any of the big 5 distributors currently selling CZ50's?

No, once a year (at the most) they can ask to see your bound book. If you don't want them at your house you can go to their office to see them.
FWIW, I've never heard of an 03FFL (C&R) having one of these compliance checks. Not to say that it doesn't happen, but it seems really rare at best.
