These two plates were after 12 rounds of getting used to it.

I'm going to take it out again next weekend to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

I can't shoot the mountain gun or the gp100 nearly as accurate as I did the sbh. I've shot the P89 pretty consistent, but I've never tried it at 100yds.

Great shooting! What barrel length is your Super Blackhawk?

Good shooting. You know its not a fluke because you put all 6 on the plate. A fluke would have been 1 or 2, right?

Now you know why the SBH is my favorite.

Fun to shoot.

Easy to shoot accurately.

I discovered a few weeks ago that I REALLY like 6" barrels. I mean I HAVE one - a Smith model-14, but never shot any other 6" revolvers. Then a local range guy let me put a cylinder thru each of his .41mag's (light loads) - one Blackhawk, one Smith.. uh.. 58? whatever that one is. Anyway, my only targets were at 50yds because I was sighting in a BP deer rifle. Man, those long barrels shoot niiiice, like my 14. That sight radius makes a huge difference.

wait a second.... you out-shot an AK at 100yds... with a blackhawk? offhand?
Possom, You're my hero for the week.

I have a SBH with a 10.5" bbl and a M8-4X Leupold mounted on a Weaver mount and rings. The best group I ever shot with it was into 5" at 100 yards from a BENCH. The load was Hornady's 240gr. XTP over 24.0grs. of W-296. That was several years ago and I never tried to shoot that range with this gun off-hand. I know I could not put them into a paper plate. These days the arthritis in the hands and wrist won't even allow the attempt, as well as eyes that need tri-power for everything.
Anyhow, shooting 6 rounds off-hand into that small a target at 100 yards is outstanding! Have you tried the S&W 500?

Have you tried the S&W 500?

You have no idea how bad I want to. But in my group of friends, I'm the only guy that likes big revolvers(my friends like shooting them, but are fans of automatics)
