CZ85B - DA trigger not engaging

I have recently acquired a new-to-me but used CZ85. It's SN - matching frame, slide and barrel - is C6XXX with the number 93 on the flat at the rear of the ejection port. It's an older model, as it has the old Action Arms Ltd. import mark.

I haven't fired the gun yet, but have been dry-firing it the past 2 or 3 days, getting the feel of it. Like it...feels good...except for one big, nagging problem.

This has happened several times where I lower the hammer manually and then try the trigger in DA mode. It fails to engage, allowing free travel rearward without moving the hammer. Sometimes the next pull engages; I tried one time where I pulled the trigger 12 times before it caught.

The gun looks hardly used. I don't think it was abused. I need to know if this is common or if it is a problem thatn needs professional service. Is it a problem that should cause me to return the gun in the next day or so (5-day inspection from Gunbroker auction)?

In honesty, this will probably be a range gun, but I like the idea of being able to carry it. BUT, no way will I carry a gun that I can't be 100% certain will engage in DA mode.

Q,

It's probably the internal trigger bar. This is the oval shaped item that wraps around the mag and connects the trigger to the sear block. Put a few drops of oil between the frame and trigger bar. If it resurfaces after a short interval, I would remove it (or have someone remove it) and polish the sides of the trigger bar.

I've seen this before. Not common, but not unheard of.

Schmeky,

Thanks. I'll try that when I get home. Hopefully a couple squirts will cure it. The gun is dry - I noticed that - so this might be the ticket.
