Official Color of the 2nd Amendment?

I started another thread asking what the official color of the 2nd Amendment should be. I'm putting together some products T-shirts etc. to unify gun owners under one color alot like other causes. One product is pretty exciting and should gain steam quickly as well as do alot of good for the 2A.

The problem is we need a single color all pro 2A Folks to rally behind. I was originally thinking Blue--not unlike several of the posters on the other thread. But I'm still not convinced that is the right color.

So here is the Poll that was requested! THR help pick an official color for the 2A!

Rainbow? Maybe not.

Husaberg that would be a vote for other. The reason I didn't include Rainbow is because I'd rather it not be something that is already owned by another group. I think Rainbow is pretty well owned by Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered causes.

If it has to be a solid color, I'm out. I am a RED, WHITE & BLUE guy - it is what it is all about. I realize three colors may not work in the real world, but that's my pick, and I'm sticking to it! :)

Of those, the blue.
Gunmetal gray and/or silver seem like a less obscure choice to me though ... explaining that your product is "the same shade of blue as the Continental Army used in the American Revolution" would get old.

Breast Cancer pink and LiveStrong yellow work so well because those colors are kind of unique to those causes.

Red, white and blue are simply everywhere and would never be recognized as RKBA colors. They're already on most used car lots and city council campaign signs. Parchment ivory just wouldn't stand out enough. Black and White might work, but to me, it lacks an emotional attachment to the issue.

High viz orange already as a connection to hunting and shooting, so as a "logo" color it has a head start. And since it is obviously highly visible, badges, bracelets and bumper stickers would really "pop."

Despite all that, I voted for Continental Army blue, because it's cool. Try Pantone 2758 C

This is exactly what I am looking for. A color that is unique to the 2A.

I really liked Hi Viz Orange due to the obvious association with Hunting but I want it to be more than just that.

i again say Hivis Orange i honestly believe it will get noticed alot faster than a blur of the other colors that are mentioned due to them being overlooked

think about the first time you saw a rainbow on the bumper of a car and went why the heck is that there later down the road someone explained it to you

the hi vis orange is in place with hunters but more importantly with safety all over the country and i think that the safety of this nation is exactly what the 2A was writen for

it also will make people start to recognize both concepts of safety and firearms together as a whole if we can dispell alot of the myths of firearms in our homes as being a safety risk to the rest of our neigbors we can get our cause back on track and hopefully keep our rights in tact which is what i believe your trying for

who knows maybe if we build a strong enough support maybe we can even get some new rights envoked like national carry permits and open carry in all 50 states

i know im probably pipe dreaming about things that wont happen but it all starts with one step

There was an old Chinese proverb:

The above post reminded me of this, sorry. (I would like to see national CCW myself however).

2RCO

The small step is what I'm going for.

The first thousand are in Blue with Yellow writing. The idea being the Continental Army Uniform and the Gadsden Flag.

I'm not oppossed to HiViz and can get them made just as easily but the goal is unification on this.

At alot of folks jobs they can't wear Pro 2A or any T-shirt for that matter. Hats aren't as popular these days. This is something that almost anyone can get away with wearing. The wording is directly from the Bill of Rights and can stand as a reminder of exactly what the 2A states.

I'm trying to get everyone on the same page and going here at the grassroots level.

Other groups are much more successful at this level than pro 2A folks. Something as simple as this Wristband can make a difference when enough people are wearing them.

With 73 out of 129 and nothing else close I'd say blues kicking the other colors.

June 23, 2009, 09:16 PM
I think my consultants on this may have secretly worked for Ruger in the past. That's right we are delaying the launch because the initial product won't work in reality. To color the letters in we can't get the entire 2A on the product so it's gonna be blue alone. The letters will be incised and this will be a quality product if I have to knock heads.

A deep blue...as in blued steel. Or stainless. Or a type of digital camouflage.

If this is for something to put on your car, a NRA (or other 2A rights group) member decal works well.

How about different designs incorporating Red White and Blue. I could see a ribbon like is used for the different Cancers (Pink for Breast, Light Blue for Prostate, etc, etc) only for the 2A group, it could be the dark blue but on the edges, one edge trimmed in Red, the other in White. Or done with a White Ribbon with Red and Blue trim. As far as Shirts, Hats, and other types go, I haven't really given it any thought. Perhaps the Number/Letter "2A" trimmed in a similar fashion.

Symbolism in itself can be a very powerful tool. I think we as 2A supporters seem to always look at the other side as a bunch of idiots when we could learn something from the Anti's about getting a message out (who by the way have been pretty darn effective in getting out their messege) these guys use every tool in the playbook. It's time we become more unified and noticeable.

This wristband was designed to be easily noticed yet tasteful. I also want to get pro 2A people together no matter what other differences they have. The Second Amendment isn't a Republican/Democrat thing, a Hunter/Non Hunter thing, a City/Country thing, Black/White thing, it is an American thing. The High Road has for the most part been really good about being a good place for all Gun Owners to get together. I want us to have a symbol so we can get our cause noticed.

With this wristband you are simply wearing the text of the Second Amendment on your arm. Under normal circumstances no one should be able force you to take it off. People will see the band and ask questions. The more people wearing the Wristband and displaying the color the more effective the movement will be.

Quoheleth

Thanks!

As far as the blue Angels go I hadn't even thought of that but that certainly wouldn't be an offensive connection. The skill that those Pilots have is amazing!

Black has been used as an anti-censorship ribbons, and I liken gun control to censorship.

2RCO

Zun --Black was considered but alot of folks associate black with mourning and death.

We will keep the 2A very much alive! For their first day out I am quite happy with the orders that have came in. If we can get enough folks wearing these people will notice and Washington will notice.

The friend that helped me with this project and I are planning on starting a privately funded organization (by myself and friends) for the protection of the Second Amendment and the Rights of American Citizens. Obviously there are many small steps on the way and this wristband is the first Step but hopefully it leaves a huge footprint.

We need everyone's help for this wristband and movement to be a success.

Thanks THR for the Help so far!

I think you'll love them. My not so great pictures really don't do them justice.

The Gadsden Flag is the reason behind the Yellow letters. Even though it hasn't got alot of "love" in the poll I think it is a very important color for all patriots especially pro 2A folks.

Also we are going to have a couple folks going to the Houston Gun show this weekend if everything works out. Look for the Guys and Ladies in Blue 2A shirts.

Lets get this rolling!

The problem with taking lessons from the enemy camp to get our message out, is we would have to resort to lies and half-truths like they do. The one thing we have on our side no matter what, is the truth. The Brady/VPC pukes can never make that claim with a straight face.

I agree that we need to become more unified and noticable. But even amongst ourselves there are too many people willing to give up some guns/shooting disciplines to keep others. To me the RKBA is an all or nothing proposition.

I couldn't disagree less!

We need to make everyone understand that...when you weaken the 2A we all lose. Whether you are a hunter or a full auto shooter we are all in the same fight.
